About us
Fat Cat and Lazy Dog is a small, independent business run by a mother and son team, Diane and Dale, created out of a shared love of animals - especially dogs - and a slight frustration at never being able to find cards and gifts we actually liked.
It all started with cards. Every time we went looking for dog-themed cards, they were either a bit too
generic, not quite right, or just didn't capture the personality and soul that makes dogs so special. So we decided to start designing our own - the kind of cards and gifts we'd genuinely want to give (and receive).
Dogs have always been at the heart of our lives, and many of our designs are inspired by real dogs, real expressions, and real personalities. Over the years we've been lucky enough to share our lives with some very special rescue dogs, both past and present.
We still miss Bradley, our gentle Whippet who came to us through an English rescue, and Sofia, a Bodeguero Ratonero cross Beagle who stole our hearts after arriving from Spain. They may no longer be with us, but they're very much part of our story - and always will be.
Today, our home (and sofas) are ruled by Leggie, a Spanish rescue Galgo with endless elegance and the occasional burst of chaos, and Onyx, a small mixed breed who proves big personalities really do come in small packages.
Our love of animals goes far beyond dogs, but if we're being honest ... dogs will always be our weakness.
All of our designs are created with care, character, and attention to detail. We want our cards, mugs, and gifts to feel personal, thoughtful, and a little bit special - whether you're buying for yourself or for a fellow dog lover who completely understands that dogs are family.
